“El barco”, award winner at the Benalmádena Festival

The actors Luis Callejo and Juan Pablo Shuk picked up the award together with production executives Iván Escobar and David Molina

This weekend saw “El barco”, a series produced by Globomedia for Antena 3 pick up an award at the FICCAB winning the Benalmádena City Film Prize for the Best TV Production of 2011 for its “innovative narrative, quality script-writing and excellent production and cast standards”.

The actors Juan Pablo Shuk and Luis Callejo, together with Iván Escobar, executive producer and co-creator and David Molina, a series director, were on hand to pick up the award at the festival last weekend. “El barco” is a ground-breaking fiction series in Spain which became the most watched Spanish fiction series premiere in the last two years, (4,769,000 viewers and a 23.4% share). It finished off the first series with an average of 4,124,000 viewers and a 20.3% share.

The FICCAB, the International Short-length and Alternative Film Festival in Benalmádena, specialising in short-length films, independent cinema and little known film-makers, held its 14th event this year.
